2014/15 UEFA Champions League Earnings by Club

UEFA logo - Black and white versionOn this page we provide the breakdown of what clubs participating in the 2014/15 Champions League earned from UEFA during that season.

Even though Barcelona won the tournament, Juventus ended up earning the most. How is this the case? Let's take a look.

Each of the 32 teams participating in the tournament received €8.6m just for taking part in the group stage. On top of that, €1m was awarded for a win and €500,000 for a draw.

The teams that qualified to the round of 16 received €3.5m each. €3.9m was awarded to the quarter-finalists and additional €4.9m to the semi-finalists.

Barcelona received €10.5m for winning the tournament, while Juventus received €6.5m for finishing second.

On top of the tournament prize money, clubs also received a portion of the television money. How much each team received was calculated by taking the proportional value of each national tv market and dividing it by the number of participating teams from that nation.

As Italy's tv market is a significant part of the overall deal and there were only two teams from Serie A in the Champions League last year, Juventus ended up walking away with most money overall. Barcelona for example had to share their tv money with three other teams from Spain.
