French Ligue 1 Reduces Number of Teams Relegated; Barcelona Legend Xavi Plays His Last Spanish League Game

Instead of three teams being dropped only two will be, which makes the French league different from the other major European football leagues.

The reason for change is the extra security for those who invest in French football says the LFP president Frederic Thiriez. The threat of financial shock that relegation brings is now reduced.

In other news, Xavi will play his last La Liga game for Barcelona FC this weekend. He is moving to Qatar to play for Al-Sadd and is going to make a lot of $$ there hopefully. The legendary midfielder said he could not stay in Europe, as he would not be able to play at Camp Nou wearing another team's colours. Xavi is a La Masia product and has been at the club since he was 11.

Not even going to try and count the number of trophies Xavi has won playing for Barcelona and the Spanish national team. He basically won everything.

Barca will play their last La Liga game of the season on Saturday vs. Deportivo La Coruna wearing a special shirt that says '6racies Xavi' on the front.

Of course Barcelona FC still have two very important games to play before it's vacation time. Copa del Rey final is on Saturday, May 30th and the Champions League final is on Saturday June 6th.

The odds of Xavi winning the treble in his last season? Pretty high I would say.

Some players have been posting photos on social media saying adios to the famous Barca number 6. Here are a couple:
