The odds for the 2021 first draft pick. Who will it be? Who will be the first player to be picked in the 2021 NFL Draft?

If the name "Trevor Lawrence" immediately came to your mind, you aren't alone in thinking that. In fact, Trevor Lawrence (no surprise) is currently the odds-on favorite to be selected first in the 2021 draft.

After all, Lawrence is being called a generational talent that has shown remarkable poise in the biggest of games. Lawrence has led Clemson to two national titles since taking over as the starting QB, including a run to the title when he was a true freshman.

After some initial "struggles" early last season, Lawrence started to gain momentum and didn't stop, as he led Clemson to the national title.

Justin Fields is currently being seen as the best chance to be chance to be taken #1 over Lawrence next year, though he is certainly going to be facing an uphill battle.

There seems to be little chance that a starting QB WON'T be taken first in 2021, especially given recent history.

In fact, don't be surprised if teams at the bottom of the league attempt to tank in order to have the chance to take either Lawrence or Fields.

Here are the current betting odds to be taken first in the 2021 NFL draft, courtesy of a major offshore sportsbook:

Trevor Lawrence, -400
Justin Fields, +500
Penei Sewell, +1200
Gregory Rousseau, +1800
Ja'Marr Chase, +2000

Lawrence seems like a sure bet at this point, though anything can happen (injury, ineffectiveness, etc) over the course of a full NCAAF season.
