Midtjylland Scores Shocking Victory Over Manchester United in EPL Action

FC Midtjylland scored one of the biggest victories in their history on Thursday after they toppled a reeling Man Utd side 2-1.

Heading into the match, FC Midtjylland was a big underdog to win, as most sports books had them at around 8.00 to defeat Manchester United. Despite their troubles this season, it was assumed that Man Utd would be able to beat a much lesser team. After all, Man Utd has over 100 million pounds in total salary, while FC Midtjylland has not played a competitive game in over two months.

The rest obviously did FC Midtjylland good, as they were able to topple Man Utd in true David vs Goliath fashion. This despite the fact that FC Midtjylland had allowed more goals against than any other team still left in the Europa League tournament.

FC Midtjylland's victory was made even more improbable by the fact that they trailed 1-0 during the contest. At this point, most sports books with in-play betting had the club as 50/1+ to win the contest. This is exactly what FC Midtjylland was able to do, however, as they left Man Utd reeling and in shock.

Despite the setback on Thursday, Manchester United is still the clear favourite to defeat FC Midtjylland and move on to the next round of Europa League.

The loss, however, was deeply embarrassing for Manchester United and its fans and is currently the talk of the football world. If there was any hope of Louis Van Gaal being retained past the end of this season, those hopes were likely dashed with Man Utd's loss today.
