Can Real Madrid Catch Barcelona on Last Day of Season?
Published on May 12th, 2016 8:08 pm ESTThis weekend, Barcelona and Real Madrid will conclude what has been a thrilling race for the La Liga title.
Both teams have very winnable games this weekend, as Barcelona will be squaring off against Granada, while Real Madrid will be taking on Deportivo La Coruna. With both teams expected to easily win, this would result in Barcelona taking the title, as they currently sit one point ahead of Real Madrid in the standings.
Stranger things have happened, however, so don't be surprised if there is at least a bit of drama this weekend. After all, Barcelona stumbled badly about a month ago, and the pressure will be on for them to close out the La Liga title, especially following their stumble in Champions League.
Real Madrid, however, will need to take care of business this weekend to have a chance. Anything other than a win will result in Real Madrid missing out on the title - a Real Madrid victory, coupled with a Barcelona draw or loss, would result in Real Madrid winning the title.

Here are the odds for Saturday's clash between Deportivo La Coruna and Real Madrid:
Deportivo La Coruna, 11.00
Draw, 7.00
Real Madrid, 1.17
According to these odds, Real Madrid should easily win on Saturday, as their implied odds state that they have a 80%+ chance of victory. Against a motivated Real Madrid team, Deportivo La Coruna doesn't stand much of a chance, even in front of their home fans.
Real Madrid will be putting their offensive skills on display on Saturday, as there are currently five players with 2.00 odds or better of scoring. They are:
Cristiano Ronaldo, 1.36
Karim Benzema, 1.57
Gareth Bale, 1.67
Borja Mayoral, 1.80
Jese Rodriguez, 1.80
It's hard to imagine Deportivo La Coruna successfully fending off that line-up over the course of 90 minutes.

When the smokes clears this weekend, who do you think will come out on top - Barcelona or Real Madrid?
