Daniel Cormier vs Roy Nelson Betting Preview
Published on October 19th, 2013 9:11 pm ESTFormer Strikeforce Heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will take on Roy "Big Country" Nelson in the co-main event of UFC 166 later tonight.
Daniel Cormier will be significantly smaller than Nelson heading into this fight, as Cormier has already announced his intentions to slim down so that he can drop to 205. Nelson will have about a 25 pound advantage over Cormier when the two men step into the Octagon.
Roy Nelson announced earlier this week that he did not have a good training camp. Was this gamesmanship, or do he truly have a subpar camp?

Bookmakers believe that Cormier have the significant edge heading into tonight's fight - here are the current betting odds:
Daniel Cormier, -550
Roy Nelson, +375
According to these odds, a successful $550 wager on Cormier would yield a total return of $!00, while a successful $100 bet on Nelson would return a total profit of $375.
Roy Nelson has some of the most powerful hands at Heavyweight, and is certainly able to turn out Cormier's lights with just one punch. Nelson also has superior grappling.
Cormier, on the other hand, has a number of advantages over Nelson, including his quickness, his cardio and his unbelievable wrestling. It will be nearly impossible for Nelson to get Cormier down to the ground in this fight, as Cormier has virtually perfect takedown defense.

Nelson will always have a "puncher's chance" of winning a fight, though Cormier certainly seems to have more weapons to win this fight.
