Can Chelsea Rebound Following a Terrible Season?

In the 2015/16 season, nothing at all went right for Chelsea.

The club, which was expected to challenge for the EPL title, ended up finishing in 10th place behind the likes of West Ham and Stoke City. Not only did Chelsea finish in the middle of the pack in the English Premier League, but they will also miss out on Champions League and Europa League play this season. A truly disastrous campaign that ended up costing their previous coach, Jose Mourinho, his position with the team.

Chelsea, which is once again one of the favourites to win the EPL title, is looking to turn things around this year. They are looking to start things off on the right foot on Monday when they do battle against West Ham, one of the teams that topped them in the league standings last year.

Here are the current odds for Monday's battle:

Chelsea, 4/6
Draw, 31/10
West Ham, 5/1

Chelsea, led by the likes of Diego Costa, is expected to come out of the gate hard and fast this season in an attempt to make their fans forget about 2015/16. What better way to start the campaign than to beat West Ham in front of their home fans - if Chelsea can't win on Monday, however, there will certainly be some major doubt creeping into the hearts and minds of their loyal fan base.

With the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City having already won this week, Chelsea would do well not to fall behind after one week of play.

West Ham, for their part, will be doing everything in their power to score a surprise result on Monday. After all, West Ham finished in 7th place in the English Premier League last season and has aspirations of finishing even higher.

This is an interesting contest that is going to test the mettle of Chelsea following a disastrous season.
