Johny Hendricks vs Carlos Condit Odds
Published on February 28th, 2013 10:49 pm ESTCarlos Condit will be taking on Johny Hendricks in the co-main event of UFC 158: St. Pierre vs Diaz, which is scheduled to take place on March 16th, 2013 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Condit vs Hendricks wasn't the original plan for UFC 158. The original plan was for Condit to take on Rory MacDonald and Hendricks to fight Jake Ellenberger, but an injury to MacDonald forced the UFC to change their plans. Hendricks was moved up to fight Carlos Condit, while Ellenberger will now be taking on Nate Marquardt.
The winner of Condit/Hendricks will very likely be getting the next shot at the Welterweight title, so there is plenty on the line in this fight.
Carlos Condit is coming off of a loss to Georges St. Pierre at UFC 154, while Hendricks is riding a five fight winning streak that includes spectacular knockout wins over Martin Kampmann and Jon Fitch. Hendricks was angry that he didn't receive an immediate title shot after his victory over Martin Kampmann, but GSP specifically requested a fight against Nick Diaz instead. There is no denying that Hendricks will be the #1 contender for the Welterweight title if he can beat Condit at UFC 158.

Johny Hendricks has opened as a very slight favorite over Carlos Condit. Here are the current betting odds:
Carlos Condit, +118
Johny Hendricks, -130
These odds mean that a $100 bet on Carlos Condit would yield a total profit of $118, while a $130 bet on Johny Hendricks would return $100 if he were able to win.

This should be an absolute war. Johny Hendricks has hands of stone, but Carlos Condit has never been knocked out in his career. Hendricks has excellent wrestling, but Condit is very dangerous off of his back.
In my opinion, this is the most intriguing fight on the UFC 158 card.
