The eyes of the world will be on the World Cup this summer.

After years of preparation, the 2014 World Cup will officially get underway at 13:00 PDT on June 12th.

The very first game of the tournament will feature a match between host nation Brazil and Croatia.

Brazil, which are the current favourites to win the tournament, are obviously the favourites to beat Croatia on June 12th. Here are the current betting odds for the match:

Brazil, 1.28
Draw, 4.80
Croatia, 10.00

Brazil will be led by a band of talented players that include the likes of Neymar, Fred, Hulk, Jo and Oscar. Croatia, on the other hand, will look to keep pace with the likes of Nikica Jelavic, Eduardo and Ante Rebic.

Here are the odds for Brazil and Croatia to win the World Cup:

Croatia, 150/1

Brazil has been 3/1 favourites since the original line for the World Cup odds were published, while Croatia's odds have improved slightly from 200/1 to 150/1.

Brazil and Croatia are playing in Group A, a group which also includes Mexico and Cameroon.

Here are the current odds to win the Group:

Brazil, 1.25
Croatia, 6.50
Mexico, 8.00
Cameroon, 26.00

Finally, the odds to move on to the next round:

Brazil, 1.02
Croatia, 1.83
Mexico, 2.10
Cameroon, 6.00

There are no easy outs in this Group - even Cameroon has a talented squad that will be tough to put away.

In short, Croatia will be in a dog fight with both Mexico and Cameroon for that coveted second spot in the group. They would obviously do a great service to themselves if they could hold the host nation to a draw in their June 12th match, but that will be a very tough task to accomplish.
