The Grand National has been run since 1839 at the Aintree Racecourse in Aintree, LIverpool, England.

The race is one of the richest in Europe, with a total purse of over £1,000,000.

The race is a steeplechase that clocks in at just under 7 kilometres. The track is left-handed and is composed of turf.

The Grand National is one of the biggest horse races in the world, as between 500-600 million people every year watch the race in dozens of countries. ITV will be broadcasting the race on TV in the United Kingdom, while Talksport holds the radio rights.
