Barcelona 1/2 Favourites To Win This Marquee Match
Published on October 18th, 2016 8:18 pm ESTThe biggest marquee match-up on Wednesday's slate of Champions League games will see Barcelona play host to Manchester City in a battle of two of football's most storied clubs.
Barcelona, buoyant after the recent return of Lionel Messi to their line-up, enters this match as the 1/2 favourite. Here are the current odds:
Barcelona, 1/2
Draw, 4/1
Manchester City, 11/2
Barcelona enters this match with a perfect 2-0-0 record in UCL Group Stage play, as they have hammered both Celtic and Monchengladbach so far. The carnage has been immense, as Barcelona has scored 9 goals in those two matches while allowing just one.
Manchester City, on the other hand, is second in the group with a record of 1-1-0, for a total of 4 points. Man City played to a draw against Celtic, though they will likely still advance from the group. A strong result against Barcelona on Wednesday would certainly make their position less tenuous, however.

Manchester City will have to deal with the three-headed monster that is Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar on Wednesday. All three men are better than even money to score, with Suarez listed at 4/11 to get one past Manchester City.
Manchester City, on the other hand, will be relying heavily on the boot of Sergio Aguero. Barcelona will surely be looking to shut Aguero down on Wednesday - if Aguero is unable to score, Man City will have a very tough time emerging victorious.
Barcelona is practically unbeatable at home, so Manchester City is going to have a very difficult time beating Barcelona, as evidenced by their long odds to win.
