Bayern Munich Slight Favourites To Win on the Road

Arsenal will attempt to salvage their Champions League tournament on Tuesday when they play host to Bayern Munich.

Arsenal has gotten off to a disastrous start in Champions League Group play, dropping contests to both Olympiacos and Dinamo Zagreb. This has obviously severely hurt Arsenal's chances of making it through to the next round, as they are currently looking up at all three of the teams in their group. With Olympiacos and Dinamo Zagreb set to play each other, Arsenal would be a minimum of four points behind the second place team in the group if they don't manage to beat Bayern Munich at home on Tuesday.

That, of course, is easier said than done, as Bayern Munich is looking absolutely fantastic so far this season. Bayern Munich has not lost in Bundesliga play so far this year, plus their first two Champions League group stage games have resulted in shut-out wins. Arsenal needs to get a win on Tuesday, though they will be battling one of the very best teams in the world. For a team that is struggling, this seems to be a very tall task.

Despite having the home field advantage on Tuesday, Arsenal finds themselves as the underdogs to win against Bayern Munich - here are the current betting odds:

Arsenal, 4.00
Draw, 3.80
Bayern Munich, 1.95

Bayern Munich is slightly better than even money to win on Tuesday, while the Arsenal and Draw outcomes are trading for roughly the same amounts.

Arsenal will have an extremely hard time penetrating the Bayern Munich defense on Tuesday. Bayern Munich, as is usually the case, has been extremely stingy so far this year, allowing just 4 goals through their first nine games of league play. Penetrating the formidable defense of Bayern Munich will be a very tough task for Arsenal, but their Champions League run depends on it. Arsenal desperately needs a win on Tuesday or else they will find themselves in a very unenviable position in the group.

Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott are currently the two players likeliest to score for Arsenal, while Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Muller, Arjen Robben, Arturo Vidal, Douglas Costa and Kingsley Coman all have better than 3.00 odds of scoring for Bayern Munich on Tuesday.
