Seattle Seahawks Currently Have The Second Best Odds of Winning

According to Las Vegas bookmakers, the Denver Broncos are currently the odds-on favorites to win Super Bowl XLIX, with the Seattle Seahawks trailing close behind.

Despite the fact that the Seattle Seahawks are the reigning Super Bowl champions, the general thought is that the Broncos improved their team in the offseason, while the Seahawks have slipped a notch.

The Denver Broncos spent heavily on their defense this offseason and are hoping that the changes will result in their not being blown out again if they happen to make it back to the Super Bowl. The Seattle Seahawks cut through a porous Denver defense in last year's Super Bowl to post an easy victory.

Peyton Manning will also be returning for another year, which means that the Broncos offense should continue to be lethal (at least when they are playing teams not from Seattle).

Speaking of Seattle, their squad lost some key pieces but also locked in some of their key players. Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas signed long-term deals with the team in the offseason, which means that the "Legion of Boom" will be intact for some time. The defense did lose some important pieces, however, so it will be interesting to see how they do this season.

Here are the odds for the five teams with the best chances of winning the Super Bowl this year (at least according to the oddsmakers):

Denver Broncos, 13/2
Seattle Seahawks, 7/1
San Francisco 49ers, 15/2
New England Patriots, 9/1
Green Bay Packers, 10/1

Other teams of interest would include:

Indianapolis Colts, 14/1
New Orleans Saints, 14/1
Philadelphia Eagles, 25/1

Can the Seahawks repeat as champions with the entire league now gunning for them? Will Peyton Manning be able to lead the Broncos back to the Super Bowl following a humiliating loss last season in the Super Bowl? How will Colin Kaepernick perform for the 49ers following the signing of his big deal?

This upcoming season should provide fans with plenty of intrigue - I can't wait.
