That Spanish team of 2008-2012 was one gifted by some of the best players on the planet at the time. It combined Barcelona's midfielders of Xavi, Cesc Fabergas and Iniesta with players of Real Madrid like Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos and Xabi Alonso. The modified tiki-taka that they played in this period was some of the most dominating that has ever been seen. Not only did Spain win all of these competitions, but they seemingly walked to the final. Despite some narrow scorelines, it never really seemed like they were going to lose. It was more pragmatic than Pep Guardiola's version, which seemed to sacrifice counter attacking at times to keep possession.

Unfortunately, all good runs must come to an end. In the 2013 Confederations Cup, they finished as Runners Up to winners and hosts Brazil. At the World Cup the next year, they shockingly crashed out at the group stage, winning only one game and getting beat 5-1 by the Netherlands. Despite this, La Furia Roja remains one of the more talented squads in the world and a fierce opponent for anyone.
