Roberto Carlos da Silva Rocha is a Brazilian footballer who was considered to be the greatest left-back in the world alongside the Italian Paolo Maldini.

Carlos started his career playing for Uniao Sao Joao in Brazil and was called up to the national team at the age of 19. In 1993 he joined Palmeiras and played for two seasons before transferring to Inter Milan. He impressed during his time at inter, which opened a move to Real Madrid in 1996. Roberto Carlos became a Real Madrid legend and was their first choice left-back for 11 seasons in which he made 370 appearances and scored 71 goals.

Roberto Carlos was famous for his powerful kicks, which earned him the nickname 'El Hombre Bala', which in English means 'The Bullet Man'.

Carlos played at three World Cups and four Copa Americas for Brazil and made a total of 125 appearances, scoring 11 goals.

Roberto Carlos is a football legend and will always be remembered as one of the Real Madrid Galacticos, playing alongside Zidane, Figo, Ronaldo and Beckham.
