The High School Wide Receivers Who Reached 400-Yard Games. A total of 10 high school wide receivers have broken the 400 yard mark in a single game. They are:

Kraig Pruett
Nate Drew
Gehrig Dieter
Jason Simmons
J.D. Felice
Jasper Lee
Jeff Clark
Slade Camp
Daijuan Stewart
John Portugal

Most of these marks have been set since the year 2000. This makes sense, as the game of football has changed at the highest levels from run-first to pass-first, so it only makes sense that high school football would follow suit as well. For most of the 1900s, the game of football was about running and defense. Three yards and a cloud of dust.

Over the past 20-30 years, football has really become a pass-first sport, and the impact on high school records has been felt.

This is true with the most receiving yards in a single game record, as Kraig Pruett and Nate Drew stand at the top of the list, with each player putting up 456 yards in a single game.

Kraig Pruett put up 456 receiving yards as a junior with Waldport. In his record-setting game, which his team won by a score of 48-0, Pruett caught 18 passes for a total of 456 yards. Pruett found the endzone a total of four times in the game.

Nate Drew tied the record just one year later in an October 11th, 2013 game against Mayville.

Drew was dominant in the game, catching 7 touchdown passes for a total of 456 yards. Drew looked like a man amongst boys on that evening, as Mayville just couldn't contend with his power and speed.
