Definition of Arm Barn
What does the term "arm barn" mean in the world of baseball? What is meant by the term "arm barn"?
Earlier this week, PETA released a statement in which they said that the baseball term "bullpen" is "speciesist" and that "we can do better than that".
PETA (People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals) said that a "bullpen" is where "bulls are held before they are slaughtered", and that the baseball term (which refers to where relief pitchers wait before they are called upon to enter a game) should be changed. PETA's "pitch" - changing "bullpen" to "arm barn".
In their statement, PETA said that "words matter, and baseball 'bullpens' devalue talented players and mock the misery of sensitive animals".
In addition, "PETA encourages Major League Baseball coaches, announcers, players and fans to changeup their language and embrace the 'arm barn' instead".

PETA's request to retire the term "bullpen" has been met by mostly laughter, and nobody expects that Major League Baseball (or any other baseball league) will stop using the term.
