UEFA Europa League Football Matches for the Evening of September 15th - PAOK vs. Tottenham etc.

Published on September 15th, 2011
UEFA Europa League is on tonight with 24 ties for us to pick from and make some money. Enjoy the night and enjoy our tonight’s picks.

PAOK vs. Tottenham

Tottenham is in a tough stretch having already played Manchester United and City and have to contend with Liverpool this weekend as well. They just got the win against the Wolverhampton which should boost their confidence somewhat, added the arrival of Adebayor to partner with Defoe in attack, Tottenham is not looking so bad right now. PAOK has a solid side and are a regular in the European competitions, giving them some well needed experience for tonight’s match. Their team is a mix of Greek and International players and although they lost their last match in the Greek Super Liga, they are the contenders for this year’s title as are always.
Tottenham should provide more of the challenge than PAOK can handle, despite playing away and should win tonight in a low scoring affair.

King’s pick:

Tottenham wins – 2,80

Shamrock vs. Rubin

What looks like one of the safer bets tonight, look for Rubin to easily deal with Shamrock in Dublin. Shamrock has already exceeded its potential for the season and is expected to enjoy playing in the Europa League for the first time. They will probably not get a point in this Group A (also contested by PAOK and Tottenham), so it is safe to play Rubin here either a straight victory with a payout 1,55 or a 1:0 Handicap on Rubin which pays 2,45.

King’s pick:

Rubin wins by two goals

Hannover 96 vs. Standard Liege

Here is a tough game to call tonight, mainly due to the fact that Hannover is playing poorly of late having lost their last one 3-0 to Stuttgart. They did however beat Sevilla to reach the group stage so there is most definitely some quality in their play, they just have not shown it of late. Standard Liege, on the other side, is playing well again in their national championship, currently ranked fifth. They dismissed Helsingborg in the last qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League and have won four of the last five they played. Still playing in Germany is always tough and we feel that Hannover must come through tonight at home in Group B, where they are the favorites.

King’s pick:

Hannover 96 wins – 1,60

Lazio vs. Vaslui

Italians play host to the Romanian side which has been a tough opponent this year in the European cups, having drawn to Twente at home and beaten Sparta Prague, also at home. Away their record is not so great and therefore we should expect Lazio to win tonight. They are in good form, have beefed up their attack with Klose and Cisse and looked quite impressive against Milan last weekend holding the last year’s Serie A champions to a 2-2 draw. Vaslui does not have any real stars on their side and will look to play a respectable game against the Italian giants, while looking to win some points at home.

King’s pick:

Lazio wins by two or more goals.

AZ Alkmaar vs. Malmo

The Dutch side is playing host to the Swedish side Malmo which comes out of the Champions league route having already shocked Glasgow Rangers along the way and almost beating Dinamo Zagreb to reach the group stage of the Champions league. Could we be in for another upset tonight? Not likely. The Dutch side is currently on fire and is currently second in their national championship having won four of their last five. Their American born attacker Altindor has been scoring goals for them after coming over from Villareal and that has worked well for AZ so far. Malmo is currently eight in their league playing well at home, not so well away. Look for them to lose to AZ tonight and judging by AS’s offensive style of play, with 17 goals in their last four matches, handicap 0-1 could also be beaten here.

King’s pick:

AZ wins – 1,31

Handicap 0:1 – AZ Alkmaar – 1,85

Udinese vs. Stade Rennes

The Italian side plays host to the French representative in the UEFA Europa League. This probably wouldn’t have been the case if the Udinese had more luck in the Champions League draw, where they faced off against Arsenal and lost in a much contested matches. Rennes on their part are an explosive team, with strong attackers which have been firing on all cylinders this year so far and are tied in France for most goals scored in the first five rounds with 10 goals. This will be an entertaining game to watch, Udinese is probably a better team with Di Natale in the attack who will punish any mistake made by the opposition. Look for Udinese to win, but even better look for both teams to score at least a goal.

King’s pick:

Udinese wins – 2,05

Both teams score 1,70

Fulham vs. Twente

This will be a great game tonight at Craven Cottage in London where Fulham hosts Twente. Fulham is in a serious slump, getting only two points in the first four rounds of the Premier league, both of these points coming at home. Tonight they will look to improve things and finally get a win which has eluded them for almost a month. Twente has seen a drop in form having won only two of their last five, losing out to Benfica for the Champions League spot along the way. Janko and de Jong are a pair of premier attackers and should cause major trouble for the Fulham tonight. Still we believe that Fulham’s bad streak must come to an end and it will probably happen tonight.

King’s pick:

Fulham wins – 2,40

Both teams score – 1,70

Steaua Bucharest vs. Schalke 04

This is another nice match for tonight, which should bring a victory to the favored away team. Schalke 04 is playing well, ranked 6th in the league with wins both home and away. Steaua is always a tough opponent, but Schalke has many weapons and 2,00 odd on Schalke’s victory seems a bit too much to pass on. Huntelaar and Raul are in fine form, expect that to continue tonight as well.

King’s pick:

Schalke 04 wins – 2,00

Handicap 1:0 – Schalke for 3,75 odd.
