This year's NCAA Basketball finals will see Texas Tech take on Virginia. Heading into "March Madness", many people expected that Duke would be in the finals, led by their unbelievably talented core of freshmen. The NCAA Men's Basketball tournament almost always has a different idea, however, and Duke fell a few days back.
Texas Tech has surprised everyone by making it this far, and they are clicking at just the perfect time as they hit the court against Virginia on Monday night. Virginia has the slight edge on Texas Tech, though anything can happen.
Entering the tournament, Virginia was the second ranked team in the nation, as they finished the regular season with a record of 34-3. Virginia ended its season on a five game winning streak, and they have carried this momentum over into March Madness.
Virginia was a very good road team this year, as they were 10-1 away from the friendly confines of their home arena.
Texas Tech finished the regular season as the #9 team in the nation, and they also finished their regular season on a five game winning streak.
One of these two team's long winning streak will have to come to an end on Monday night.
