St. Pierre vs Condit Betting Odds

Georges St. Pierre will make his long awaited return to the Octagon Saturday night when he defends his Welterweight title against Carlos Condit.

St. Pierre has been on the sidelines for nearly 19 months after blowing his knee out. While St. Pierre was on the sidelines, Carlos Condit defeated Nick Diaz to become the interim Welterweight title holder.

The fight on Saturday night will answer some questions that the public has had for a while now. How will St. Pierre respond following his long layout? How much "ring rust" will he have? Will St. Pierre be able to finish Carlos Condit?

These questions are what makes Saturday night's tilt so intriguing. In any other scenario, St. Pierre would be the clear favorite. However, following a lengthy time on the sidelines, anything could happen.

Having said that, St. Pierre is still a -350 favorite or so to win on Saturday night, while Condit is listed between +250 and +300 (depending on the book). While St. Pierre is still the favorite (and for good reason), he is not the massive favorite that he usually is for his title defenses.

Georges St. Pierre is considered to be one of the best wrestlers in the UFC, so Carlos Condit will need to work hard to keep this fight standing. Condit's path to victory likely involves surprising a rusty St. Pierre with some sort of knee (see Condit's fight against Kim Dong-Hyun) or punch (see Condit's fight against Dan Hardy) during an exchange.

St. Pierre's path to victory will be clear - take Condit down, ground and pound the "Natural Born Killer" and hope that Condit gives up an arm for a submission.
