Daniel Cormier vs Frank Mir Odds

Daniel Cormier will make his UFC debut this weekend as he takes on former UFC Heavyweight champion Frank Mir in the co-main event of UFC on Fox: Melendez vs Henderson.

Doniel Cormier made a name for himself after defeating Josh Barnett in May of 2012 to win the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix Championship. Cormier defeated Jeff Monson in a reserve bout and then filled in for Alistair Overeem against Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva in the semi-finals of the tournament. Cormier knocked "Bigfoot" out and made a name for himself overnight. Daniel eventually defeated Josh Barnett in the finals via unanimous decision.

Daniel Cormier will be looking to make a big splash in the UFC this Saturday, but standing in his way will be Frank Mir.

Mir is looking to rebound after a loss to Junior dos Santos in May of 2012 and will be looking to capitalize on Cormier's lack of big fight experience. Mir has been in numerous big fights in the UFC and will be counting on Cormier making a mistake or two on Saturday night.

Here are the current betting odds for this fight:

Daniel Cormier, -400
Frank Mir, +300

These odds mean that Daniel Cormier is a pretty big favorite to win. A successful $400 wager on Cormier would return a total profit of $100, while a successful $100 bet on Mir would return a total of $300.

This will be an interesting fight, as Cormier has very strong wrestling but Mir is one of the best grapplers in the heavyweight division. Will Mir want the fight to go to the ground so that he can hopefully secure a submission? Will Cormier even attempt a takedown in this fight, or will he keep the fight standing so that he can try to clip Frank with a big punch?

Frank Mir recently hooked up with Greg Jackson, so you can be sure that Mir will have an excellent gameplan coming into this fight.
