Game Preview - Manchester City vs. Chelsea - EPL - Sunday, September 21st, 2014

Matchup and Team Logos - Manchester City vs. Chelsea FC - Head to HeadThe two title favourites this season, Manchester City and Chelsea FC, meet in the fifth round of the English Premier League on Sunday, September 21st, 2014 at the Etihad Stadium.

This is a big game!

The last year's winners, City, have started the 2014/15 season somewhat inconsistently. After beating Newcastle (0-2) and Liverpool (3-1), Manuel Pellegrini's side lost at home to Stoke (0-1) and then drew with Arsenal (2-2) away. In their most recent match, Man City lost to Bayern Munich (1-0) in the last minutes of the Champions League's first round match.

Chelsea FC started the season very strong with victories over Burnley (1-3), Leicester (2-0), Everton (3-6) and Swansea (4-2). In their most recent match, in the UEFA Champions League, Jose Mourinho's men drew with Schalke (1-1) at Stamford Bridge.

Manchester City have only one fully fit striker at the moment in Sergio Aguero. Edin Dzeko is under a question mark for Sunday due to a problem with his back, while Stevan Jovetic is suffering with a hamstring injury. The team midfielder, Yaya Toure, seemed a little sluggish in the last game vs. Bayern.

Chelsea's £32m summer investment in Diego Costa is paying huge dividends already. Costa has netted seven goals in his first four Premier League games, which is a new EPL record. Didier Drogba, who started vs. Schalke on Wednesday, seemed slow, while the club's third striker, Loic Remy, has performed well during the minutes he has been given so far.

The odds for the upcoming game in Manchester are:

Man City: 11/8
Draw: 5/2
Chelsea: 21/10

To score anytime:

Sergio Aguero: 6/5
Diego Costa: 13/10
Edin Dzeko: 15/8
Stevan Jovetic: 2/1
Loic Remy: 11/5
Didier Drogba: 9/4

If Man City manage to win this game at home, they will close the point gap between them and Chelsea to two points. If Chelsea manage to win, the gap will swell to eight points.

It will be interesting to see if Man City's Frank Lampard will get to play vs. his former team, Chelsea, where he played for 13 years.

Let's see how things play out on Sunday.

Should be a great game!
