They won their first two games vs. Swansea 1-0 and Crystal Palace 0-1, and in the UEFA Europa League, they eliminated Dinamo Tbilisi 8-0 on aggregate. The Spurs have been very active in the summer transfer market. With the proceeds from the imminent sale of Gareth Bale, Andre Villas-Boas made several successful purchases. Roberto Soldado, Erik Lamela and Paulinho are the three most expensive additions to the squad.
