Mixed Martial Arts - MMA - Lettering - Blue colour. On Saturday evening, the co-main event of UFC 208 in Brooklyn, New York will see former Middleweight champion Anderson "The Spider" Silva square off against Derek Brunson.

Silva vs Brunson was one of the last fights to be added to the card, and it was likely done so to give the card a bit more "name" recognition.

Here are the betting odds for Silva vs Brunson:

Anderson Silva, +115
Derek Brunson, -135

According to these odds, Anderson Silva is a very slight underdog, as a $100 wager on Silva would yield a total profit of $115 if he is able to pull off the victory.

Believe it or not, more than four years have passed since Anderson Silva's last victory inside of the Octagon. This includes four losses (Cormier, Bisping, Weidman x2) and a no contest against Nick Diaz. Many people, however, including this writer, believe that Silva beat Michael Bisping at UFC Fight Night: Silva vs Bisping. Silva thought that he won the fight as well, as he blamed the decision loss on the partial English judges.

Derek Brunson is a very strong opponent for Silva, as he has won five of his last six fights, including victories over Uriah Hall, Sam Alvey and Ed Herman. Brunson's most recent fight resulted in a loss, and he will surely be looking to turn things around against Silva this Saturday.

The main question heading into this fight - will Anderson Silva be able to contend with Father Time? After all, Silva is 41 years old and not getting any younger. That being said, Silva came very close to beating the current Middleweight champion (Michael Bisping), so he is certainly capable of beating Brunson on Saturday night.

Silva has something to fight for as well, as he has stated that he wishes to fight Michael Bisping for the title if he beats Brunson on Saturday night.

A motivated Anderson Silva could pull off the victory on Saturday night, though Brunson will be looking to make a name for himself.
