The New York Giants have a perfect 5-0 record in NFC Championship games, consistently delivering clutch victories en route to Super Bowls. The New York Giants don't mess around when it comes to NFC Championship Games.

Five appearances. Five wins. No losses.

That's not just impressive ' that's legendary stuff.

Let's rewind the tape.

January 11, 1987. The Giants hosted Washington in the NFC title game at Giants Stadium. It was classic smashmouth football. Cold, gritty, and defense-heavy. Big Blue shut out Washington 17-0. Phil Simms tossed a touchdown, Joe Morris ran one in, and the defense? Lights out. Washington's offense didn't stand a chance. That win sent the Giants to Super Bowl XXI, where they'd go on to beat the Broncos.

Fast forward to January 20, 1991. This one was brutal. Giants vs. 49ers in San Francisco - a game that looked more like a street fight than a football game. The 49ers were gunning for a third straight Super Bowl, and the Giants were standing in their way. No touchdowns for the G-Men, but five field goals from Matt Bahr did the trick. His 42-yarder as time expired was the dagger. Giants win 15-13 and go on to win Super Bowl XXV in a nail-biter against the Bills.

Then came the blowout.

January 14, 2001. Giants vs. Vikings at the Meadowlands. Minnesota had a high-flying offense with Daunte Culpepper and Randy Moss. Didn't matter. Giants dropped 34 points on them - in the first half. Final score? 41-0. Kerry Collins went off for five touchdown passes. The defense? Relentless. It was one of the most dominant conference championship performances ever.

Now let's talk drama.

January 20, 2008. NFC Championship at Lambeau Field. Temperature? Around minus-1 at kickoff. Eli Manning vs. Brett Favre. The Giants had chances to put it away but kept letting Green Bay hang around. Lawrence Tynes missed two field goals, but with the game tied in overtime, Corey Webster picked off Favre. Redemption time - Tynes nails a 47-yarder to win it. Giants 23, Packers 20. Then they went on to pull off one of the biggest upsets in NFL history, knocking off the undefeated Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.

Last one.

January 22, 2012. Another thriller. Giants vs. 49ers, this time at Candlestick Park. Tight all the way through. Tied at 17 in overtime, it looked like a long night. Then came the big break. Rookie returner Kyle Williams muffed a punt. The Giants recovered. One play later - Tynes again. Money from 31 yards out. Giants win 20-17, and off to the Super Bowl they went. Once again, they beat the Patriots.

That's 5-0. Five NFC Championship appearances, five Super Bowl trips.

Say what you want about the Giants' ups and downs over the years - when it's time to punch a ticket to the big game, they don't miss.
