That's exactly what happened to Dallas Cowboys linebacker Larry Brown in a 1994 preseason game against the Houston Oilers. During the pregame coin toss, Brown got into a heated exchange with Oilers safety Bubba McDowell. Tempers boiled over. Shoves were exchanged. Officials wasted no time.

Brown was ejected before the ball was even kicked off.

Pre-kick ejections are rare. This one? Historic.

In the NFL's long, chaotic history, players have been tossed for fighting, taunting, even for bumping refs. But before a snap? Practically unheard of. No penalty yards. No gameplay impact. Just straight to the tunnel.

Larry Brown would go on to win a Super Bowl MVP just two seasons later. But that moment remains one of the weirdest ever. Ejected without even lining up. You couldn't draw it up if you tried.

And it wasn't a one-off either. NFL history is sprinkled with blink-and-you-miss-it exits. Raiders DT Anthony Smith once got tossed two minutes into a game for punching a Broncos lineman. Aqib Talib and Michael Crabtree famously got ejected early for chain-snatching drama. But none of them beat Larry Brown's record.

Coin toss. Confrontation. Curtain.

For a league known for its structured chaos, the NFL has a way of reminding us that nothing is ever off the table. Even getting ejected before the opening whistle.
