Every NFL Franchise Has Tweaked Their Logo - Except One

Almost. But not quite.
Every active franchise in the NFL has adjusted their logo in some way - whether it's a complete overhaul or a subtle color shift. But there was one team, now retired, that never touched their original design: the Houston Oilers.
That iconic oil derrick? Sky blue, outlined in red. From 1960 until the team moved and rebranded in 1997, the logo stayed exactly the same. No gradients. No modern reboots. No unnecessary polishing.
Just pure old-school football identity.
And it's not like the Oilers didn't have the opportunity. They moved from the AFL to the NFL, changed ownership, and played in multiple stadiums. But the logo? Untouched. That kind of consistency is practically unheard of in professional sports.
Now, if you're asking about current NFL teams, it's a trickier story.
The Chicago Bears, for example, made a tiny tweak to the color of the "C". The Packers adjusted proportions. The Cowboys' iconic star? Ever so slightly refined over time. These are changes so minor most fans wouldn't notice - but they still technically count.
So if we're talking trivia-night technicalities, the Houston Oilers stand alone as the only NFL team to have never changed their logo - not once - while they existed.
The franchise is gone, but the legacy lives on. The Tennessee Titans (who used to be the Oilers) still break out the powder blue uniforms and that classic derrick on occasion, sparking nostalgia for one of the cleanest logos in football history.
