Tom Brady leads New England Patriots during 21 game winning streak spanning 2003 and 2004 seasons. The longest winning streak in NFL history stands at 21 consecutive games, held by the New England Patriots from October 2003 to October 2004.

The run started after a Week 4 loss to the Washington Redskins in 2003. New England wouldn't lose again for more than a calendar year.

That streak covered the end of the 2003 regular season, a Super Bowl XXXVIII victory and a 6-0 start in 2004.

At the core were Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, combining elite quarterback play with a disciplined, opportunistic defense.

During the streak, the Patriots outscored opponents 589-333, including playoffs. Their average margin of victory: 12.2 points.

They defeated nine playoff teams during that span, including the Colts, Titans, Eagles, and Panthers.

The streak ended on October 31, 2004, when Pittsburgh snapped it with a 34-20 win behind rookie Ben Roethlisberger.

Only one other team has come close - the 2008-09 Indianapolis Colts with 23 consecutive regular-season wins over two seasons, but that run included a playoff loss, so it doesn't count as a continuous all-games streak.

Nobody's come close since. In a league where injuries, salary caps, and scheduling level the field every year, going 21 straight without a loss feels almost impossible. The Patriots made it look routine.
