During his time with the Eagles, White has a six-time First-Team All-Pro, and finished in the top 5 of voting for the Defensive Player of the Year Award four times (including one win).

White had established himself as the top defensive player in the NFL when he hit free agency in 1993, so it wasn't a surprise that literally every team in the NFL came knocking.

Teams sent envoys to Reggie White to try to lure him to their cities. White had his choice of where he wanted to go, and teams certainly weren't shy about spending money to acquire his services.

One day, Reggie White shocked everybody by announcing that he was signing with the Green Bay Packers. The contract was a four-year deal, worth a total of $17 million.

The Packers, who had finished with a 9-7 record the year before, were an immediate Super Bowl contender.

White would famously say that God told him to sign with the Green Bay Packers.

The Packers would achieve some moderate success in White's first season with the team, as they finished 9-7 and lost in the Divisional Round to the Dallas Cowboys.

In 1994, it was more of the same, as the Packers finished with a 9-7 record and lost in the Divisional Round.

In 1995, a breakthrough occurred, as the Packers finished with a record of 11-5-0, and made it all the way through to the Conference Championship, where they lost to the Dallas Cowboys by a score of 38-27.

In 1996, everything came together for the Packers, as they won the Super Bowl by defeating the New England Patriots 35-21.

White played at a high level during the entirety of his time with the Packers. In fact, in his final season with the team, White was named Defensive Player of the Year.

White's addition to the Packers immediately made the franchise a contender, and they were able to put everything together in 1996, with no small thanks to Reggie White, who immediately transformed the defense overnight.

There have been other massively impactful free agent signings - Drew Brees to the New Orleans Saints and Tom Brady to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to name a few - but none were as surprising and franchise-altering as Reggie White signing with the Green Bay Packers (though Brees to the Saints is certainly in the argument).
