About Tingle Creek Chase

The event is named after Tingle Creek, who was a very successful National Hunt racecourse back in the 1970s. The horse had a reputation for his bold jumping and high speed, which made him a crowd favorite. Tingle Creek never ran at Sandown.

The Tingle Creek Chase is a Grade 1 National Hunt race, and in 2022 had a prize pool of around 160,000 pounds.

The Tingle Creek Chase is often an early indicator about form and potential for other significant steeplechase events later in the season, such as the Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.
