During the 1985-86 regular season with the Edmonton Oilers, Wayne Gretzky was at the absolute peak of his powers.

The 1985-86 season would see Gretzky notch a total of 215 points in 80 games, which was the highest single-season total of his career.

This amazing season included a torrid 10 game stretch of the season when Gretzky notched a total of 43 points in 10 games.

During this remarkable 10 game stretch, Gretzky NEVER had less than 4 points in a game:

Mario Lemieux came the closest to topping Gretzky's 10 game record during the 1988-89 season, when he put up a total of 37 points in 10 games.

Lemieux, despite playing in only 60 games that season, still managed to put up 37 points in 10 games.

As you can expect, no other players have come close to the marks set by Gretzky and Lemieux.

The game has changed a great deal over the past few decades, with goaltending and defensive play being elevated by a substantial margin. It seems very unlikely that anybody will ever be able to top Gretzky's mark of 43 points in just 10 games.
