Despite the fact that Jordan Spieth has won the Masters AND the US Open so far this season, Rory McIlroy is still the odds-on favourite to win the British Open, which gets underway in mid-July.

While Jordan Spieth has significantly closed the gap on Rory McIlroy in the world golf rankings over the past month or so, McIlroy remains the world's #1 player. For that reason, McIlroy is still the favourite to win at the British Open, despite the fact that Spieth is 50% of the way towards a "Grand Slam".

Rory McIlroy is the defending British Open champion and knows what it takes to win in those challenging conditions. Even the most talented and prepared of golfers can see their games evaporate in the wind and rain and challenging bunkers that the British Open can provide.

Can the superbly talented Jordan Spieth overcome the elements to win yet another Grand Slam event, or will McIlroy re-assert his dominance over the rest of the tour?
