Rasheed Wallace set an NBA record with 41 technical fouls in a single season, a seemingly untouchable mark that remains unmatched. Rasheed Wallace sits at third place on the all-time technical foul list, as he was teed up a total of 317 times over his career.

Only Karl Malone (332) and Charles Barkley (329) finished their careers with more.

Rasheed Wallace's 2000-01 season was particularly filled with technical fouls, as he finished the season with 41, which still stands as the record to this day.

2000-01 was the season that really cemented Wallace's status as one of the top players in the league, as he finished the year with nearly 20 points per game.

Wallace, however, was known best for his ferocious defense, as he finished tied for 5th place (with David Robinson) in the Defensive Player of the Year Award voting.

Wallace was extremely difficult to play against and often antagonized his opponents. This resulted in a number of skirmishes with other players.

In addition, Wallace's aggressive style of play often got him into trouble with the officials, and Wallace had no trouble telling the officials what he thought of them.

This often led to technical fouls for Wallace, and he developed a reputation amongst the officials. This resulted in Wallace getting teed up frequently, as the officials were constantly on the lookout for inappropriate comments from Wallace.

This was part of Wallace's effectiveness, however, as he constantly antagonized his opponents and made them make mistakes, similar to Dennis Rodman.

In this day and age, the leader in technical fouls in a season usually ends up with something like 20.
