Exploring NFL Playoff Win Percentages - In photo: Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns. Which NFL team has the worst record in the playoffs in the history of the league?

The answer: the Cleveland Browns, who have posted a lifetime record of 12-22 in the playoffs, for a total winning percentage of .353.

The plight of the Browns fan has truly been something to behold over the past couple of decades. After long periods of futility, the Browns will muster a decent team, only to come up way short in the playoffs. While teams like the Patriots or Chiefs are seemingly always in the playoffs, the Browns always seem to come up short.

A total of five NFL teams have lifetime winning percentages of less than .400 in the playoffs - they are:

Cleveland Browns, .353
Los Angeles Chargers, .375
Cincinnati Bengals, .385
Detroit Lions, .391
Minnesota Vikings, .396

The Minnesota Vikings have played in a total of 53 playoff games, winning just 21 of them, despite their storied history in the NFL.

A total of 19 teams have a lifetime record of less than .500 in the NFL - this includes the likes of the Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Jets, just to name a few.

Despite going to four straight Super Bowls, the Buffalo Bills still have a losing record all-time in the playoffs, as they have won 20 postseason games and lost 21.

The two teams with the two best winning percentages in the history of the NFL are:

New England Patriots, .627
San Francisco 49ers, .603

The San Francisco 49ers have won more playoff games than any other team, as they have recorded 38 wins in 63 post-season games.
