Peyton Manning and the Broncos Record 606-Point 2013 Season. Which NFL team holds the record for most points scored in a single season?

The answer: the Denver Broncos, who scored 606 points in 16 games during the 2013 regular season.

The 2013 Denver Broncos got off to a tremendous start, scoring 40+ points in four of their first five games of the season.

in fact, the Broncos would score 50+ points THREE times in 2013 - once against the Philadelphia Eagles, once against the Dallas Cowboys and once against the Tennessee Titans.

Peyton Manning, 37 years of age at the time, was the epicenter of the unstoppable Broncos offense.

Manning, who would win the MVP award in 2013, tossed 55 touchdowns and just 10 interceptions that season. Manning would throw for 5,477 yards, which worked out to an ungodly 342.3 yards per game.

The Broncos had a deep passing attack that included the likes of Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker, Julius Thomas and Wes Welker. Both Thomas and Decker finished the season with more than 1,250 receiving yards.

Four players - Thomas, Decker, Thomas and Welker - finished the year with more than 10 receiving touchdowns. With Manning spreading the ball around so well, opposing defenses were throwing fits trying to guard everybody.

On top of that, the Broncos successfully employed a rushing attack that included Knowshon Moreno, Montee Ball and Ronnie Hillman.

As if that weren't enough, the Broncos had one of the best kick/punt returners in the league in Trindon Holliday, who had more than 1,000 combined kick return/punt return yards.

Unfortunately for Peyton Manning and the 2013 Denver Broncos, their amazing offense wouldn't help them in the Super Bowl against the Seattle Seahawks, as they were destroyed by a score of 43-8.
