Jason Kidd Recorded A Triple Double Every Season For Seventeen Years. Here is a record that has a very good chance of never being broken, as it is a combination of well-rounded skills and longevity:

Jason Kidd posted a triple double in each of his first 17 NBA seasons.

In fact, Kidd very nearly posted a triple double in 18 consecutive seasons but ended up falling just short, as he had a game in his 18th season in which he posted 10 rebounds and 12 assists.

This 17-year streak is the longest in NBA history - in fact, next up on the list are Magic Johnson (12 years), Oscar Robertson (11 years), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (10 years) and Larry Bird (9 years).

The interesting thing about Jason Kidd is that he didn't even posted that many triple doubles relative to his record.

In fact, Kidd posted 107 triple doubles over the course of his storied career - far behind the likes of Russell Westbrook (202), Oscar Robertson (181), Nikola Jokic (156) and Magic Johnson (138).

Kidd's numbers were also far behind these aforementioned players, as Kidd averaged 12.6 points per game, 6.3 rebounds per game and 8.7 assists per game over the course of his career.

Kidd, for some reason or another, managed to post at least 1 triple double per game over the course of his first 17 years in the NBA, despite averaging far fewer triple doubles per season compared to the likes of Westbrook or Robertson.

Kidd had a number of very good games over the course of his career, including a 43-point effort in March of 2001 and a 25-assist mark in February of 1996.

The best single game of Kidd's career, however, likely came in December of 2006, when Kidd posted a line of 38 points, 14 rebounds and 14 assists in a double OT loss against the Phoenix Suns.

Most people don't include Jason Kidd in the list of all-time greats, though he does hold one of the most untouchable records in the history of the NBA.
