Coaching whistle. Who has the most-ever wins in the high school football coaching world? When it comes to the greatest high school football coaches of all time, there are two names that should be at the very top of your list:

1. John T. Curtis, Jr.
2. John McKissick

As of the time that this article was written, John McKissick still held the record for most-ever wins by a high school football coach at 621 wins.

McKissick finished his distinguished coaching career with a lifetime record of 621-155-13.

During his time at Summerville High School, the football team won 10 South Carolina state championships (1955, 1956, 1969, 1978, 1979, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1986, 1998) and McKissick was named High School Coach of the Year three times (1980, 1984, 2003).

As impressive as McKissick's coaching results have been, there is one man that might be even better:

John T. Curtis Jr.

John T. Curtis Jr., who is still coaching at John Curtis Christian School in Louisiana, is on the brink of breaking McKissick's all-time win mark.

As of this moment, John T. Curtis Jr. has a total of 618 wins, and his all-time record sits at 618-76-6, over the course of 54 seasons.

During his time at Curtis Christian School, John T. Curtis Jr. has led his teams to an astonishing 27 state championships.

On top of that, the John Curtis program has been named the best in the nation five times while John T. Curtis, Jr. has been head coach.

John Curtis has won the state title five times in a row, and they also hold the state record for appearing in the finals an astonishing 14 straight times.

John T. Curtis Jr. has the personal accolades to match, as he has been inducted into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and National High School Hall of Fame, and has been named Coach of the Year many times.

As if that weren't enough, John T. Curtis Jr. has also coached his high school's baseball team to three state titles as well.

John T. Curtis, Jr. and John McKissick are easily the two most accomplished coaches in the history of high school football, but Curtis' results in state championships put him over the top.
