A Look at the Scores That Have Never Happened in the NHL

Here are some of the crazy scores that have actually taken place over the long history of the NHL:

16-3 (Montreal Beats Quebec Bulldogs 16-3, March 3rd, 1920)
14-7 (Montreal Beats Toronto St. Patricks 14-7, January 10th, 1920)
9-8 (Seattle Kraken Beats Los Angeles Kings, November 29th, 2022)

When you go back to the "good old days" of the NHL, you can get some pretty wacky scores.

Also, back when Wayne Gretzky was running the league with the Edmonton Oilers, there were some pretty unusual scores as well - 13-0, 13-2, 13-4, just to name a few.

It's hard to imagine that any of these scores will be occurring anytime soon, especially given the parity in the league and significant improvement in both goaltending and defensive play.
