Spain and Uruguay meet in the FIFA Confederations Cup - Group B match taking place on June 16th, 2013 at Arena Pernambuco in Recife, Brazil.

Spain technically qualified for the Confederations Cup twice, being the current World Cup and the European Cup champions, while Uruguay got their in by winning the Copa América.

Both Spain and Uruguay are strong sides with several star players on their teams. Luis Suarez and Edison Cavani from Uruguay are some of the hottest properties in the upcoming summer transfer market, while the Spanish team is stacked top to bottom with superstars such as Sergio Ramos, Iniesta, Xavi, Fernando Torres and Juan Mata.

Spain and Uruguay have met nine times already throughout all competitions. Spain won the contest four times and the two teams drew five times. Uruguay is yet to win a match against Spain.

Uruguay are struggling a little in their World Cup qualifying group.
