Samuel Eto to Join Chelsea FC According to the Odds

Chelsea FC - LogoSamuel Eto, one of the world's highest paid footballers, is about to join Chelsea FC, according to the odds posted at Skybet.

Anzhi Makhachkala, the Russian football club, is having a fire sale this summer and they are getting rid of their expensive players in an attempt to build a new, more affordable team. Chelsea FC have already purchased Willian Borges da Silva from Anzhi for 38.000.000 €, and Samuel Eto seems to be the next player in line.

After the Wayne Rooney chase fell through, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho started to go after Eto. The two have worked together, and won the UEFA Champions League (2010), during their times at Inter Milan, and the partnership from that perspective makes sense. Roman Abramovich, the owner of Chelsea FC, is also from Russia, so this transaction makes sense from the business side of things as well.

It will be interesting to see what kind of shape Samuel Eto (age 32) is in after spending two years playing in Russia, away from the spotlight. It will also be interesting to find out the financials behind the deal.

The odds of Eto joining Chelsea are offered at 1/3 (bet $100 to profit $33).
