Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) - Poised to Make a Splash in 2012

Under new ownership, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is looking to make a mark in the French league and the Champions League this year. Qatar Investment Authority, the club's 100% owner as of last year, have pledged to build a club that will win it all.

Infused with what seems to be an unlimited supply of cash, the team is continuing to buy top football talent.

The most recent and in the same time the biggest signing of the 2012-2013 transfer season so far is the move of Zlatan Ibrahimovic from AC Milan a few short days ago. Just days leading up to the transfer, Ibrahimovic's AC Milan teammate Thiago Silva was also signed. In addition, PSG bought the highly promising teenager Marco Verratti from Pescara as well as the Argentinian international Ezequiel Lavezzi from Napoli earlier this month.

Carlo Ancelotti, the club's manager, is shaping the team up for the new year. PSG tied Chelsea FC on Sunday night in a friendly played in New York, and they are facing FC Barcelona on August 4th in another high profile match that will test the team's strength before Ligue 1 starts on Aug 11th.

The transfer window is still wide open and we look forward to seeing what PSG will do next.

Look for Paris Saint-Germain to make a splash in the Champions League this year.

Current odds of PSG winning the Champions League outright are 14/1.
