Brazilian Defender Marquinhos Extends Contract at PSG Unitl 2019



Marquinhos Extends Paris Saint-Germain Contract - March 2015 - Photo - Social MediaSao Paulo born defender Marquinhos got his term extended by a year at Paris Saint-Germain. This means he will remain with the French champions till the end of the 2018-19 season.

Marquinhos's football career started at an early age of eight with the Corinthians. Later on he went on to represent the senior side of the Brazilian club giant on six occasions before being lapped up by AS Roma in 2012 for a transfer fee of 1.5 million euros. The young Brazilian made his debut for AS Roma in September 2012 in a match against Bologna. Following a string of impressive performances at the back, Marquinhos cemented his position in the starting XI of the Italian club. He caught the attention of the French giants, PSG and by July 2013 we joined their ranks following a €31.4 million transfer signing.

His debut for the club began well when he scored the fourth goal in a 4-1 over Greek club Olympiacos in a Group stage UEFA Champions match. He scored his second goal in the same stage of the Championship in a 6-1 aggregate win over German club Bayer Leverkusen.

The young Brazilian made his French Ligue 1 debut in a 2-0 win over Guingamp spending the entire 90 minutes of playing time on the field.

Marquinhos was left out of the Brazilian 2014 World Cup squad by Felipe Scholari by can definitely expect an international calling very soon. At PSG, Marquinhos will be jostling for a place in the starting XI with compatriot defenders Thiago Silva, David Luiz and Maxwell.
