Game Preview: DFL-Supercup 2014 - Borussia Dortmund vs. Bayern Munich

One day after the UEFA Super Cup, we have the German DFL-Supercup 2014, between Borussia and Bayern, at the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund on Wednesday, Aug 13th, 2014.

the DFL-Supercup is a contest between the Bundesliga winners and the winners of the DFL Pokal. Bayern won both the league and the cup last year, while Borussia came second in the league and were in the final of the cup.

Both Borussia and Bayern have won the DFL-Supercup five times, so the winner of the Wednesday's match will set a new German record.

The Munich side have been a dominant force in German football for the last two years and the bookies suspect that this year will be no different.

After taking Borussia's wonderkid, Mario Gotze, in the last summer's transfer market, Bayern signed their star striker, Robert Lewandowski, this summer. It will be interesting to see the reaction of the Dortmund fans if Lewandowski is featured on Wednesday.

If there is one team that can give Bayern problems, domestically and in Europe, it is Jurgen Klopp's Borussia side. They beat them in the DFL-Supercup last season, in Munich, and it will not be a surprise if they beat them again at home this year.
