Quick Preview - FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Playoff - Europe - November 15th, 2013

FIFA Brazil 2014 - LogoThe first legs of the World Cup Qualifier playoffs will be played on Friday, November 15th, 2013.

On the European side of things, we have four matchups.

Portugal vs. Sweden
Greece vs. Romania
Ukraine vs. France
Iceland vs. Croatia

The most interesting matchup, perhaps, is the battle between Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal and Zlatan Ibrahimovic's Sweden. The two players are on fire at the moment. Ibrahimovic scored a hat-trick for PSG on Saturday and Ronaldo did the same thing for Real Madrid.

Ukraine vs. France should be a good game. France have some good momentum right now. Ribery is in form, Benzema is in form and Pogba is in form. Hopefully, for France, the team captain, Hugo Lloris, will be fit to play by then as well.

Iceland have a young squad and will be fearless vs. experienced Croatia. Niko Kovac, the ex-Bayern Munich defender, took over the Croatian squad last month. Will be interesting to see if Croatia wake up under new management.

Greece vs. Romania. Should be a good game. Georgios Samaras & Co. are the slight favourites to qualify, according to the odds.

We will follow up with previews of each game.

The return legs will be played on Tuesday, November 19th, 2013.

The aggregate winners will head to Brazil this summer for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
