Brazil Complete Preparations for the Confederations Cup With a Friendly Game Against France

Brazil vs. France - Matchup and Country FlagsBrazil and France meet in a friendly match at Grêmio Arena in Porto Alegre on June 9th, 2013.

This promises to be an entertaining match between two of the most famous football nations.

The game against France is the last test for Brazil ahead of the FIFA Confederations Cup which starts on June 15th. Since Luis Felipe Scolari took over the Brazil squad, they have played six matches, won once against Bolivia, tied four against Italy, Russia, Chile and England and lost once against England at Wembley. As the nation is preparing to host the World Cup in 2014 they have not had a chance to play competitive football lately, and all of the above matches were friendlies.

France are looking to bounce off a heavy defeat on home turf against Spain in their World Cup Qualifying group earlier in March, which was followed by a recent loss to Uruguay in a friendly.

With both teams needing a confidence booster, lets take a look at the odds posted for the upcoming match at Porto Alegre:

Brazil: 8/13
Draw: 14/5
France: 9/2

Brazil are huge favourites to win this match at home. A $100 bet on Brazil returns $61 in profit, while the same bet on France could return $450 in profit.

The most likely score according to the odds is a 1-0 victory for the hosts offered at 11/2, followed by a 1-1 tie offered at 6/1.

Brazil are looking to make a statement in this game as they have not beaten any of the elite European sides in the last few years. How will France respond?

This should be a great game to watch!
