January 17th, 2023 Update

Bettors like Jon Jones in this fight, and the odds have been moving in his favor.

Most sportsbooks now have Jones listed as a -120 favorite, while Gane is listed at +100.

A very close fight.

The last time that we saw Jon "Bones" Jones in the Octagon, the then-Light Heavyweight champion was struggling to defeat Dominick Reyes via unanimous decision.

Since that time, Jones has been dealing with personal issues and preparing himself to move to the Heavyweight division.

Some people thought that this would never happen.

Well, it now appears that on March 4th, 2023, Jon Jones will be taking on Ciryl Gane for the Heavyweight title, based on comments that Jones made in a recent interview.

The fight that the world wanted to see was Jon Jones vs Francis Ngannou, though Ngannou and the UFC have famously feuded over the Heavyweight champion's contract.

This means that Ngannou's title will likely be stripped barring some sort of last-minute contract breakthrough, and Jones and Gane will be fighting for the title.

A line for this fight hasn't been officially released as of yet, though our sources in Las Vegas say that Gane should open as a small favourite.

They point to the fact that a Gane/Ngannou rematch would be a coin-flip, and a potential Ngannou/Jones fight would see Ngannou listed as the favorite.

Our source said that the odds should open around here:

Ciryl Gane, -155
Jon Jones, +135

This should be a fascinating fight, as Gane is so technically sound for a Heavyweight, though Jon Jones is arguably the greatest mixed martial arts fighter of all time.

Jones will also be dealing with "ring rust", as he hasn't fought in nearly three years.
