2011/2012 Champions League Qualifiers - Final Round

The sports are back on sports-king.com. We start with the look of some upcoming events in the world of soccer.

Champions league is in full swing this week with the start of the final round of qualifiers before the group stage goes ahead. Here are some matches to look for at the bookies.

Dinamo Zagreb (Croatia) : Malmo (Sweden)

1 x 2
1,6 3,60 5,0

Dinamo Zagreb has long awaited to be in a position to play the Champions league and they have performed well this year so far, both domestically and in the European qualifiers. They have also brought in some strong players such as Leko from Turkish side Buskaspor and experienced Krstanovic from their city rival Zagreb. Krstanovic has been finding his form of late scoring in his last game against Karlovac. They are currently in the lead in the Croatian league. Malmo on the other side is only ninth in their national league and has gone winless in their last five in the national campaign. Their win against rather weak Rangers team three weeks ago is their last win and although it came on an away tie, their task against Dinamo on Wednesday seems a bit too much.
We pick Dinamo to win and to score early tomorrow.

Bayern Munich : Zurich

1 x 2
1,2 5,2 12,0

On paper this looks like a gimme but Zurich has had an impressive run of form of late winning their last three games. The odds on this one are so low that the best one to play on Wednesday would be that the Zurich will net a goal. Bookies are giving 1,85 on a dollar and that might just be the right bet considering Zurich have scored at least a goal in 9 of their last 10 games. Bayern is good as usual, but their slow start in the Bundesliga (home loss to B. Monchengladbach and a 90th minute goal away to Wolfsburg) doesn't seem like the Munich team is clicking just yet.
King picks that Bayern will win but Zurich should score at least one, not that it will matter because Bayern should comfortably be through to the group stages.

Maccabi Hapoel (Izrael) : Genk (Austria)

1 x 2
1,95 3,15 3,70

This is the toughest of the games to call in this round. Genk has drawn last three while Maccabi has only won one of the last four. This is one of those ties which will probably be decided in the second leg, and we are most likely to see a defensive play in their first match, so the best pick will be to go for less than 3 goals with bookies giving 1,7 to the dollar on that bet.
King picks a tie with probably a 0:0 score in Izrael.

Oddense (Denmark) : Villareal (Spain)

1 x 2
4,23 3,00 2,00

This is perhaps the best bet for tomorrow's Champions league playoff round. Villareal should have an easy time with Danish last year runners-up who have had a slow start to their domestic campaign this year, but have still beaten Panathinaikos in the previous round which was perhaps the surprise of the round. Villareal should win both ties as Odense will be happy to be contending UEFA European league.
King picks Villareal to win by 2.
