One of the most famous horse racing festivals in the world, the Crabbie's Grand National, is set to take place this weekend at the Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool, England.

The event, which was first started back in 1839, has a prize fund of over 1 million pounds, which makes it one of the most valuable jump chases in all of Europe. The Grand National, which is a steeplechase that is run over 7 kilometers and features a total of 30 fences over two laps, has been called the "ultimate test of horse and rider".

The Grand National is so big that an estimated 500-600 million people in 140+ countries will reportedly take in the race this weekend.
