Man Utd Slight Favourites To Win Despite Recent Turmoil

The Christmas holidays will be short for many English Premier League teams on Saturday, as league action returns for a number of Boxing Day clashes.

One of the most interesting games on Saturday will see Stoke play host to Manchester United. Manchester United is currently in freefall, as they are sitting in a tie for fifth place in the table with Crystal Palace. There are a number of teams closing in on Man Utd, and they could quickly find themselves in 8th or 9th if they don't stem the bleeding. Their recent troubles have led many to speculate about a possible coaching change if things don't turn around.

Stoke City, on the other hand, is sitting in 11th place with a record of 6-5-6. The team has been on an uptick as of late, as they have won 2 of their last 3 games, including an impressive victory over Man City at home on December 5th.

While Man Utd has the edge to win on Saturday, bookmakers aren't overly excited about their prospects. Here are the current wagering odds as of this moment:

Stoke City, 3.10
Draw, 3.10
Man Utd, 2.40

Manchester United has had troubles finding the net as of late, and this is evidenced by the long odds of their top players to score. Wayne Rooney has the best odds of scoring on Saturday, as he is currently listed at 3.10 to find the net. Bojan, on the other hand, is currently listed at 3.40 to score for Stoke City.

Stoke City has been terrible at home this year, as they have managed a meager 10 points out of 8 home appearances. Manchester United, on the other hand, has been decent away from home, racking up 1.56 points per game away from Old Trafford.

Manchester United, winless in their last 4, desperately needs a big performance on Saturday from their biggest stars.
