Denver Broncos, New England Patriots Amongst Teams Looking to Strengthen Their Defenses

The Seattle Seahawks proved to everybody in February that defense does, in fact, win championships.

The Seattle Seahawks took their vaunted defense and absolutely crushed the high-flying Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl. Peyton Manning and his stable of talented receivers were no match for the "Legion of Doom", who took great delight in making it a very long day for Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.

Heading into the free agency period, the Seattle Seahawks were the favorites to repeat as Super Bowl champions, while the Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers trailed shortly behind.

As the free agency action starts to wind down, nothing has changed - the Seahawks remain 6/1 favorites to win the Super Bowl, while the Broncos and 49ers are both still listed at 7/1. The New England Patriots, fresh off of signings of Darrelle Revis and Julian Edelman, are 10/1 to win the Super Bowl.

The Seahawks lost a number of players, including Golden Tate and Brandon Browner, but they are so incredibly deep that they will likely withstand these losses with no trouble.

The Broncos, fresh off of an embarrassing Super Bowl performance, decided to spend heavily on their defense with the signings of DeMarcus Ware and Aqib Talib. The general feeling is that the Broncos have a year or two left with a healthy Peyton Manning to make another run at the Super Bowl, so the time is now to load up on defensive talent.

The 49ers, on the other hand, elected to not make any major changes - not a surprise as they certainly have one of the top teams in the league.

Will Russell Wilson and the "Legion of Boom" lead the Seahawks to another Super Bowl, or will somebody else win next year?
